Under Blue Skies {Chapter 6}

When she got to the office the next morning, Lily was glad to see Laz his normal, well-styled, not overly masculine self. He was lounging in his chair, eyes closed, feet resting on the reception desk with his ankles crossed, and singing gently to himself. Lily approached the desk as quietly as she could and stood a little distance away, watching him. Laz reached the end of the song, and without opening his eyes murmured “Hi there.”
“Hey.” Lily replied, dumping her bag on the desk. Laz showed no signs of moving, so she walked round behind the desk and swiped her personnel card through the scanner. Lily studied Laz for a moment before deciding that he was in one of his dreamy, thoughtful moods, and therefore it would be completely impossible to obtain a normal flow of conversation from him, so she grabbed her bag and strode towards the lifts.
“See you at lunch!” Laz called after her, lazily lifting a hand to brush his fringe out of his eyes.
“No you won’t...” Lily yelled back, “I’ve got a date.”
Laz opened his mouth to reply, but as he did so the phone on his desk began to ring. “To be continued.” He said, yawning, stretching and picking up the phone.

At lunch the next day, Laz and Alex listened eagerly as Lily described a wonderful lunch with Sébastian, followed by a walk around the city, and some time spent sitting in the sun in a peaceful park near the city centre. As Alex pointed out, Lily mentioned Sébastian’s eyes every other sentence, and blushed when she recalled charming things he had said to her.“It was just so, so amazing that I can’t quite believe it.” Lily finished, sighing happily and returning to her food.
“So...when are you seeing him again? You are aren’t you?” Alex asked.
Lily grinned. “Tonight” she said, fiddling with her hair.
“Tonight?” Alex gasped, “gosh this is going a bit fast isn’t it?”
“Well, yes, but I don’t really mind.”
“With him looking like that I’m not surprised!” Alex smirked.
